Myrtle wood is native to the Pacific Northwest and is a unique and beautiful wood known for its rich, varied colors from blond to black, with honey, brown, gray, red, and green hues. It has intricate grain patterns that can be highly figured, including fiddleback and burl. The artist works with the grain pattern to create an intriguing, distinctive earring.
Wander the Woods materials are sustainably sourced from lumber yard mill ends or wood worker scraps. The wood is cut and sanded thin enough to laser-cut a design specifically selected for each type of wood. Once the design is cut, the earrings are hand sanded before applying a finish. French hook ear wire is made of hypoallergenic niobium accented with copper bead and jump ring.
