The teardrop design is a desirable shape for stud earrings and is brought to life with Zebrawood. Zebrawood is known for its distinctive light-colored wood with dark brown or black stripes, resembling a zebra’s coat. It is typically sourced from West Africa. Our Zebrawood is sourced sustainably from local mill ends.
The artist carefully selects the best section of wood for the design she will cut. In some cases the striping is laid horizontally, as with the teardrop earrings, other times it is laid vertically.
Wander the Woods earrings are all-natural wood with clear varnish. The wood is cut and sanded thin enough to laser-cut. An original design is selected for each type of wood and once the design is cut, the earrings are hand sanded before applying a finish. The stud earrings are hypoallergenic with stainless steel posts.
